Election of Student Council

Here in Maktab Nasional we teach our students the meaning of Democracy and the freedom to choose our leaders. Hence each year a new Student Council is democratically elected by the students themselves to represent them. The election process begins with a week of intense campaigning by the ‘political’ parties and the ‘government’ is decided through the ballot boxes. The winning party will form the Student Council and the leader is given the title Chief Minister. The losing party with form the Shadow Government and is responsible to keep tab of the Student Council. Each year a parliament sitting is held for the Student Council to present reports of their activities while being questioned by the Shadow Government. A very interesting spectacle to watch that can sometimes become quite intense.
